In God's Hands Now

A child should never fear her father's hands
She shouldn't cower when he stands

A mother's touch should not cause harm
Or cause a child to feel alarm

But there are those who do not see
The precious gift a child can be

They show hate and disrespect
To the child they should protect

And when abuse goes on and on
Soon you'll find the child is gone

Some in body, some in mind
The child that was, you'll never find

When, from this world, a child has passed
She will be free from pain, at last

And we will make it here somehow
Because you are in God's hands now.
