Andrea's Song
by
Larry W. Hall
No one seemed to want
This little brown eyed beauty
She was pushed from pillar to post
No one would do their duty
The little heart that beat inside
Wondered again and again
Will anyone ever want me
Will I ever find a friend
Why do they scorn me
Why do they yell
Why must they abuse me
My body, it's so frail
Lord, I'll never understand
Why they treat me this way
Please come and help me make it
Through another day
Then came that night
Andrea would meet her fate
Her body was wilting
Her time here was getting late
The pain was almost unbearable
But the abuse hurt worse
Seemed she was just a rag-doll
Born with a curse
Then Jesus looked down
And heard her gentle plea
And said, "I undertsand, my child,
For they did the same to Me."
Come unto me, oh little one,
There's rest for the weary
You're safe in My arms now
You'll never have to worry
They said there wasn't a scream
She never raised her voice
Brutally, they scourged her
She didn't have a choice
This child's life was hopelessly
Doomed from the start
That's why some say she died
Of a broken heart
No more tears or suffering,
No more pain
For I Am the Great Shepherd
I'll never leave you again
Then there was a smile
Where none had ever been
For this little brown eyed beauty
Had finally found a friend
